3105 aluminum alloy belongs to the 3xxx series (Al–Mn) family. Its main composition is aluminum (balance), with manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and other minor alloying elements. Compared with the 1xxx series, 3105 offers higher strength while maintaining excellent plasticity and corrosion resistance. Since 3105 cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, its mechanical properties are adjusted through cold working (cold rolling) and annealing, making it ideal for closure and bottle cap applications that require deep drawing, spinning, and other large deformation forming processes.
DD (Direct Chill Casting): A direct-chill casting process. This method produces aluminum coils with a uniform internal grain structure. During subsequent rolling, the material demonstrates excellent ductility and formability, making it widely used for bottle cap manufacturing.
DC (Double Chill Casting): A double-sided cooling casting process, designed to further refine the internal structure and improve material stability during forming.

Excellent Formability: Closure production involves complex stamping, drawing, and thread-forming. 3105 aluminum closure sheet has outstanding ductility, allowing it to be easily shaped into a variety of cap designs and withstand thread rolling without cracking.
Balanced Strength & Hardness: Compared with pure aluminum (1xxx series), 3105 offers higher strength, ensuring caps resist deformation during transportation and opening while maintaining reliable sealing. At the same time, its moderate hardness makes caps easy to open for consumers.
Outstanding Surface Treatment Performance: Closures often require printing, coating, or anodizing to enhance aesthetics and brand identity. 3105 aluminum provides a smooth, uniform surface, ensuring excellent adhesion for inks and coatings and enabling high-quality multicolor printing.
Superior Corrosion Resistance: In most environments, 3105 forms a dense oxide film that effectively resists corrosion. This ensures closures maintain integrity during storage and transport, which is crucial for protecting beverage quality.
Lightweight & Recyclable: With a low density, aluminum closures are lighter, helping reduce transportation costs. Moreover, aluminum is highly recyclable, making 3105 an eco-friendly choice aligned with sustainability trends.
