Aluminum foil for yogurt lids is a composite foil material specially designed for sealing yogurt cups and dairy containers. It is typically composed of an aluminum foil substrate + a heat-sealing coating (or laminated film layer), which is firmly bonded to PS / PP / PET cups through heat sealing. It provides reliable sealing, contamination prevention, and freshness preservation.
During production, the aluminum foil substrate undergoes strict rolling, annealing, coating, or laminating processes to ensure food-grade safety and stable heat-sealing performance.
8011 O
8079 O
3003 O (for certain higher-strength requirements)
1235 O
"O" indicates the fully annealed temper. After annealing, internal stress is eliminated, making the foil extremely soft with excellent elongation. This allows the foil to achieve tight, gap-free adhesion during lamination with plastic films and during sealing onto yogurt cup rims on filling lines, ensuring complete sealing integrity.
Among these, 8011 O and 8079 O are the mainstream choices for yogurt lid foil due to their superior ductility, formability, and hygienic properties.

Yogurt contains active lactic acid bacteria and is mildly acidic, which places very high demands on the barrier performance and chemical stability of packaging materials. 8011 / 8021 aluminum foil is the preferred choice thanks to the following properties:
1. Ultimate Barrier Performance: 100% barrier against light, oxygen, and moisture, preventing oxidation and spoilage while extending shelf life.
2. Excellent Corrosion Resistance: With special coatings, it effectively resists acidic food attack with no metal migration.
3. Stable Heat-Sealing Performance: Aluminum’s excellent thermal conductivity ensures tight and reliable seals even at high-speed sealing operations.
4. High Mechanical Strength: Outstanding tear and puncture resistance ensures no leakage or damage during transportation.
5. Non-toxic and Odorless: Safe for food contact, with no harmful substances or odors that could affect yogurt quality.
